The “next generation of Daily Fantasy Golf” has arrived. DraftKings recently announced that they have brought together PGA Tour IP, digital collectibles, and fantasy golf via their Reignmakers PGA series. The first contests will be available for THE PLAYERS Championship which starts on Thursday March 9, 2023. The Genesis packs will be available starting on March 6th.

Daily fantasy golf is my favorite fantasy sport due to highly variant outcomes, game theory, and the plethora of statistical categories available to analyze each week for a given golf course, setup, and tournament. These elements create fun gameplay, unique decisions, and the joy (and pain) of sweating your choices alongside the action! Add digital collectibles, a pack opening experience, and a peer-to-peer marketplace and things instantly become even more fun and interesting. Evaluating the best marketplace purchases for a given tournament (think weeks in advance), contest selection based on the strength of field, and the decision/gamble of ripping open digital packs or opting to create your lineups from the marketplace all add a new flare to the game and has me excited to jump into Reignmakers PGA.

How do you get started with Reignmakers PGA?
The Greens Pass is the first opportunity to get involved with RM PGA which started last week on Wednesday March 1. At the time of publication it looks like there are still passes to be purchased, if you so choose. These passes are available in two unique tiers and price points:
- PROFESSIONAL – $150. A total supply of 3000 passes is available. Currently 1700+ remain at the time of publication. If interested in these, you may be able to grab a deal on the marketplace for less than the mint price (current low ask of $144 at the time of writing). Check there first!
- CHAMPION – $1000. These passes were available only via auction only starting at $1000 with bid increments of $100. There is a total supply of 300 and it appears you can purchase one of these from the marketplace for $1175.

You do not need the Greens Pass to enter upcoming contests, however Greens Pass holders will have Preferred Access to the RM PGA GENESIS drop happening on Monday March 6 at 12PM ET. Greens Pass holders will also receive access to every premium and set drop that happens this season.
Based on a quick glance at the utility, you’ll receive monthly free bets and tournament entry tickets for holding a Greens Pass that could possibly pay for itself. Not a bad investment if you’re into daily fantasy golf, but definitely not mandatory to play Reignmakers PGA.
