March has arrived which means one thing – it’s March Madness time baby!

This year at OTM we are coming to you with a unique bracket challenge game in a pack-based digital experience. We have taken some elements from our TOC Best Ball fantasy football game to introduce Own the Madness. It is completely free-to-play and one lucky winner will win their way to Vegas this summer! Along with a BIG ASS TROPHY and bragging rights for life.

Here’s how it works.

Step 1: Claim Your Free Pack

Each user is eligible to claim one FREE Madness pack for the Madness Main Event contest. There are additional contests and ways to win packs outlined later in this article.

Step 2: Open Your Pack

Each pack contains 20 icons. Each icon represents a seed. Each row represents a quadrant of the bracket, giving every pack 5 teams from each quadrant.

First row = top left

Second row = bottom left

Third row = top right

Fourth row = bottom right

Note: Prior to Selection Sunday, the team names will be TBD. Team names will be added after the brackets are finalized on Sunday 3/12.

Step 3: Build Your Bracket

Build your bracket by selecting 3 out of the 5 teams in each row, creating a 12-team bracket card.

During the builder, you can click “Seeded Matchup Info” to see how the seeds match up to strategically pick your bracket based on when the teams in your pack may play against each other.

Step 4: Create Your Group & Invite Your Friends

Each user is eligible to create one free Private Group. This will get you a link that you can share with your friends to join your contest!

We are really excited about this game format and think it’s a unique opportunity to get your friends, family, co-workers and everyone you know to join in on the fun. March Madness is a game that anyone can play and in this pack-based format, we are truly embracing the madness more than ever this March!

Step 5: Watch the Games & Embrace the Madness

The contest locks on Thursday 3/16 at Noon ET.

We will be hosting a watch party during the games on our Playback TV channel all tournament long! Come join us as we watch the games and sweat our brackets with the community.

Scoring System

Once the games begin, you’ll be able to track your Groups on the Leaderboards. You will receive points every time your teams win, with the points doubling each round:

Round of 64 – 1 point
Round of 32 – 2 points
Round of 16 – 4 points
Round of 8 – 8 points
Round of 4 – 16 points
Championship – 32 points

The tiebreaker will be total points scored by the teams on your card over the course of the tournament.

In the event that a second tiebreaker is needed, it will be the total points scored from all 20 cards in your original pack.

If a third tiebreaker is needed, we will spin the wheel for a winner.

Packs, Contests, & VEGAS BABY

There are four Madness pack types associated with different contests. Two users will win their way to Vegas this summer! The winner of the Main Event will also take home a BIG ASS TROPHY from our friends at Trophy Smack and will forever be the inaugural Own the Madness champion.

1. Madness Main Event – Available to everyone. Each user is eligible to claim one free pack. Users can win additional Main Event packs by participating in Joker Poker, Hoops, and other giveaways taking place over the course of the next week. The winner of the Main Event will receive a $1,000 package to join us in Vegas this July for NBA Summer League and the World Series of Poker!
2. Jolly Jokers Madness – Exclusive for Jolly Joker holders. Users receive one pack for each Joker held based on the Feb 28^th snapshot. All future Joker mints between now and the start of the Madness contest will receive a Madness pack, expiring on Wednesday 3/15 at midnight ET. The winner of the Jolly Jokers Madness will receive a $1,000 package to join us in Vegas this July for NBA Summer League and the World Series of Poker!
3. February Checklist – Users that completed the OTM February Checklist will receive an additional pack to compete in a separate contest. The winner of this contest will receive a free Jolly Joker mint!
4. Private Groups – Each user is eligible to create one free Private Group where you can claim a new pack and compete with your friends! You can create additional Groups for a small fee.

MEGA MADNESS TIP-OFF PARTY

Next Tuesday 3/14, we will be hosting an all-day MEGA MADNESS Tip-Off Party. We will be live streaming on the OTM YouTube channel starting at 12pm ET, bringing on guests, ripping packs, minting Jolly Jokers, running giveaways for chat, and more!

All this will end with the Mega Madness Poker game at 8:30pm ET, where there will be 100 additional Madness Main Event packs up for grabs!
