The Owners Club 2022: Web3 Fantasy Football on FLOW
We are excited to announce that starting this season, we will be moving the Owners Club to the FLOW blockchain! FLOW is the gasless blockchain developed by Dapper Labs and is the same chain that powers NBA Top Shot, NFL ALL DAY, and many other sports-related NFT projects.
At OTM, we believe the next 10 million sports fans will onboard into Web3 via FLOW. FLOW provides an easy onboarding experience where all you need is an email address and a credit card to get started. This ease of onboarding plus FLOW’s gasless transactions makes it the perfect fit for a utility-based game like TOC. As a part of this, TOC will have Dapper Wallet integration, allowing users to purchase TOC packs and cards using your Dapper balance AND your OTM balance.
What happens to my First Edition cards?
In the coming weeks, we will transition the existing First Edition tokens from Polygon to FLOW. Here’s how it will work:
- We will de-list all listings from the current TOC marketplace. We will create a direct copy of each of the 50,000 Polygon tokens and replicate the metadata as a new token on FLOW
- Users will need to connect their FLOW wallet to their TOC account. If you do not have a FLOW wallet you can create one by signing up for for a Dapper account at https://meetdapper.com/
- The tokens will be airdropped into the respective FLOW wallets
What do I need to do?
Right now, there is no action needed from you. In the near future, we will need each user to connect their FLOW wallet to their TOC account by clicking “Connect Wallet” on the TOC account profile page (https://toc.otmnft.com/account). We will provide an update when this functionality becomes available. We will handle everything else on our side – the overall experience will remain exactly the same from an end user’s perspective. After we launch on FLOW, you will have the option to make purchases with both your OTM balance, credit card, AND your Dapper balance. Will there be a new marketplace?
Of course! TOC will continue to have its own on-site marketplace built on top of FLOW. After the original marketplace takedown, we will be re-implementing the new marketplace along with all other UI upgrades for the 2022 season. At this point, you will be able to re-list your assets on the FLOW-based marketplace. Please note that there will be a period of time where the marketplace is closed as we make this transition.
When do the contests start?
Soon! We will complete the token transition, go live with the redesigned TOC website, and then make packs available shortly after that, starting with Best Ball. More details about the 2022 season of TOC will be coming very soon. For now, you can check out our Best Ball teaser!
