Last week we shared a lot of information across our suite of OTM Products and continued to explain how the Jolly Jokers connect them all. In case you missed our Twitter Spaces, our Discord Town Halls, or any of our other public appearances, we thought we’d gather answers to FAQs in one place.
Here are the recent announcements for each product:
And here are answers to the most frequently asked questions by product:
Q. Why mint more than 1?
A. First, the token-gated contests. Starting with JJ-exclusive Best Ball, which gets decidedly more +EV the more JJs you mint. Plus, many more contests to come. Second, as a bet that as Dapper sports grows, so too will demand for lifetime access to OTM Premium. Third, to get access to the JJ Community Ticket fund, where the more you mint, the better your odds for tickets and experiences. Lastly, for all the standard speculative reasons, including as a bet on OTM.
Q. How will Community Partners use funds?
A. The only guidance we’ve given is to make sure the funds are given back to the community.
Q. Do Jolly Jokers won in giveaways or contests count against the JJ-exclusive Best Ball contest thresholds?
A. No, the contest thresholds are based on MINTED jokers.
Q. How many Golden Goats are there and what makes them special?
A. There are 16 Golden Goats, all homages to legends of the sporting world. Each has gold skin, a golden goat necklace, and a familiar jersey.
Q. Will the Jolly Joker lifetime Premium access be tied to minting or holding?
A. Premium access is tied to ownership. Your account profile will recognize whether you own a Joker.
Q. How long will the Early Bird annual pricing last?
A. Not long. Jolly Joker ownership will be the surest way to lock in a discount.
Q. Can Best Ball lineups be re-sold?
A. Yes, absolutely! We think that is one of the key components that makes TOC Best Ball special.
Q. Can you buy/sell a Best Ball lineup for one of the Jolly Jokers-exclusive Best Ball contests?
A. Yes. Only JJ minters will receive packs for these contests but after they’re opened the entries can be sold to anyone on the marketplace, increasing your chance at finding the highest buyer.
Q. Can TOC packs be purchased with Dapper balance?
A. Yes. Dapper balance, Credit card, and OTM balance.
Q. Can you cash out in Dapper?
A. Not initially. Contest cash outs will be in OTM balance. Perhaps in the future.
Q. Will there be Best Ball Playoffs (a la Underdog)?
A. No. All Best Ball contests will rank on aggregate points from Week 1 – Week 18.
Q. Can unopened packs be re-sold?
A. No. There will not be a secondary market for packs. All connected to our desire to match supply with demand.
Q. Will 2022 Traditional TOC cards have utility beyond this season?
A. Not in the form of specific contests like the OGs for First Edition holders.
Q. Will there be a Live Final for Traditional TOC?
A. Yes, as long as we hit minimum pack sales thresholds. Details to be confirmed when prizing structure is announced.
Q. Why no IDP?
A. We want Rumble to be familiar and accessible to the largest number of collectors possible. 98% of leagues do not use IDP.
Q. How will you handle traded players?
A. For QB/RB/WR/TE the team of the moment does not matter. The Rumble points follow the player. For DST+, the team metadata from the moment will determine team designation and therefore points.
Q. Does the existence of Preseason Beta contests mean I should be buying backups and third string moments to use?
A. No. The Jolly Joker gated Beta contests are about testing the product with a smaller group of users and getting important feedback in advance of the regular season. There will be small prizes and fun to be had but we do not recommend spec buying for this purpose.
Q. Will there be a Rumble advice/analytics feature?
A. We are focused on building the game first. There will definitely be weekly OTM content related to Rumble and we know other 3rd parties will be building analytics.
Q. Will there be a feature for self-service head-to-head or private league matchups?
A. Not right away. We hope you will all play, tell your friends and give feedback so we can eventually get there.
